Characteristics & Processing
Chemical resistance
Busofan is stable in aqueous acids such as HCI, H 2SO 4, HNO 3. With highly concentrated acids, a material embrittlement can occur and needs to be examined. Busofan is soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons and hydrogen sulphides, however it is difficulty soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons. Busofan is, independent of the temperature, not soluble in ketones and alcohols.
Enviromental behaviour
Due to its structure Busofan is comparative easily activated by the UV components of daylight.
Thereby Busofan decomposes within a duration of approx. 1 month under normal summery climatic conditions in the open air and the residues can be utilised biologically.
