What is Busofan?
Busofan is a film made of synthetic rubber. It is a low molecular, low crystalline, polybutadiene. Thereby and through our many years of know-how, the advantages of synthetic rubber can be combined with those of polyethylenes. Thus, a low melting point, with a high thermal stability is achieved. Coincidently it is possible to vulcanize the material.
Specific characteristics and typical utilization of Busofan
Busofan, as a thermoplastic elastomer, has the characteristics of rubber as well as those of olefins:
- high transparency
- high gas permeability
- good machinability
- processing to every packaging form
- good printability
- colouring possible
- low melting point
- high thermal stability
- vulcanizable with sulphur
Due to these characteristics, the main application area of Busofan is the packaging of rubber-compounds and –additives.
Since Busofan, as a synthetic rubber, constitutes no foreign matter for these substances and merges without residue.
Therewith all disposal issues are eliminated in these areas, which normally arise inevitably with other packaging. The disposal cost are eliminated as well. The health hazard through particular components is minimized, as the opening of packaging is no longer required.
